Guitar

 Electric Bass

 Ukelele

Banjo /Banjo Uke / Banjo Mandolin

 Violin

We can re-string all of the above instruments. A re-string will include a fret polish and a neck oil.

For the guitars (acoustic and electric) and electric bass, we are able to carry out a full setup. This includes truss rod adjustment and setting the string height at both the nut and saddle, and on electric guitars, adjusting the intonation (tuning) and curve of the strings to the same as the curve of the fingerboard.

The string height at the nut is crucial for beginner players. Most guitar nuts are set with the strings too high off the neck, making it hard to 'fret' the strings properly. Special nut files are needed to adjust this correctly. The height at the saddle end also needs careful attention, especially for accoustic/electric guitars with under the saddle pick-ups.

For the banjo family, older instruments have a vellum (animal skin) head and this can be replaced if it gets damaged. We can also set the string action and intonation.

For the violin it is possibe to re-shape the tuning pegs and the holes they fit into. This makes tuning easier, especially for the inexpensive instruments normally used by beginner students.
